Deep below where the water drinks, where the water eats, an oil of a twisting and dragging rot, a hungry river - and of those ladies that yearn and feast in its depths - was birthed and born. Sinking Oil is a collaborative effort between Haus of Ophidious and Kitchen Toad to create an oil for intense maleficia; the oil plays on the horizon line of the water and those hungry Ladies of the Willow that drown and feast. Sinking Oil is an oleum to cause confusion and disorientation within a person or place, for swelling those emotions that will overwhelm a target and cause them to create their own downfall, for calling the ladies of the Willow to rend, to tear, to feast. They will stop at nothing to pull their targets below the surface of the waters.
Sinking Oil is more than an oil in the traditional sense; each bottle is half oil and half water, each separately worked and then combined with specific materia. This includes water taken from a river after it had taken and drowned a man - gathered from the exact place of the event - Black Henbane, Strangler Fig, Devil’s Shoestring, and Shark teeth. Beyond this, the mother bottle contains nine branches of Willow, THE cursing tree, that were ritually tied into nine knots for the ladies of the oil and then wrapped in a bundle of venomous sea snake leather that had been inscribed with altered psalms. Further, the oil contains a large portion of Haus’ Cursing Powder, containing Blackthorn, cremation brick ash, cursed salt, dirt from a Pear tree located in a cemetery, Devil's Claw root, Datura stramonium seed, insect husks, mausoleum wall pieces, Poppy seed, Rattlesnake head, roasted Rat, sulphur, and Valerian root, among other materia that was buried at the base of a tree in a cemetery for 3 nights before it was exhumed, powdered, and fed. This cursing powder specifically is a writhing mass of husks and ghosts, for the sending of those bringers of destruction and disease, for the loss and souring of luck and fortune, the closing of roads, the darkening of reputation, the destruction of health, and all manner of true cursing - and here, in Sinking Oil, the powder becomes even more, turning in favor of water and rot.
As note: The oil in each individual bottle is a deep black due to natural dyes and burnt bone powders. Additionally, the mother bottle shows only the oil component and not the water of the drowned man which has been worked separately with its own materia, poured directly into each of the nine bottles.
"He has sunk into the miry depths where there is no footing; he has drifted into deep waters, where the flood engulfs him."
There are nine bottles of Sinking Oil available, one for each of its nine ladies, and each bottle contains a single solid silver skull which has been sunk to the bottom of the bottle, a cord of willow knotted to mirror the nine ladies, and three chunks of ritually cored and worked Willow that float between the horizon line of drowning water and oil.
For clarity, this is what I would consider as existing somewhere between being a full “Mother Bottle” of oil and a bottle poured from its Mother. I would also classify these nine bottles of Sinking Oil as “fetiche object” insomuch as saying that they are power objects - carriers of spirits meant to be worked. These bottles, if you choose, can be worked without ever removing a single drop of oil from the bottle, though dispensing the oil brings a different type of potential. These nine individual bottles each contain a family of nine female river spirits housed in the charge-bundle that floats within the heart of the oil. Each spirit is pacted to the oil and both lives in and works through the liquid oleum.
Each 4fl oz bottle arrives with detailed instructions and suggestions for usage, which contain three individual workings for cursing a person or place, each varying in intensity. The oil also arrives with detailed safety protocols for working with its indwelling spirits.
