Drawing on the heavily attested body of lore and years of personal work with High John the Conquerer Root, the King of the Woods is an all-conquering, suave, and ready to defend ally to all - particularly to men and masc-presenting folks. It is said that a person posessing a High John Root, that is the root of the Ipomea jalapa, will never be without money nor a lover, and that they will be lucky in all matters of finance - and it is this that these two King of the Woods mother - father? - bottles find their impulse and dictation.
The main heart and seat of conciousness within The King of the Woods is a large High John root, some of the largest I have ever seen and a rarity to come by, woken up, fed, and tasked with whiskey, flame, and smoke, all to work for the caretaker of its bottle for works of:
- Drawing Luck and Financial Success
- Gaining Mastery, Command, and Influence
- Strengthening the Male Nature
- For Protection
- For Boosting Confidence
- Overcoming Obstacles
Further bolsetering this thrumming heart are herbal, mineral, and animal materia in line with the virtues of the indwelling spirit, some of which include: Solomons Seal Root, known for aiding those that seek to gain respect and favor and those that would dominate; Calamus, a root of influence and compulsion; Snake root, a granter of virility and strength; Safflower, a strong love plant; Master of the Woods, a plant of mastery and domination under a suave and sweet-smelling guise; Ruby, for power and mastery - and to be seen, and powdered bone of creatures of prey, all swimming alongside over 30 other botanicals, minerals, and materia.
The two available King of the Woods draw virtue and scent from the addition of several essential oils which include Lemongrass, Patchouli, and Bergamot among others.
For clarity, this is what I would truly consider a “Mother Bottle” of oil - and here there are two. Beyond being what I would consider "Mother Bottles", I would also classify these as “fetiche object” insomuch as saying that they are power objects - carriers of spirits meant to be worked. These bottles, if you choose, can be worked without ever removing a single drop of oil from the bottle, though dispensing the oil brings a diferent type of boon. These two individual bottles each contain a single spirit bound to the root that floats within the heart of the oil. Each spirit is pacted to the oil and both lives in and works through the liquid oleum.
The two bottles are listed as Bottle 1 and Bottle 2, with the only differences being the shape of the root itself; Bottle 1 contains a High John Root that measures roughly 3.5 inches in length and is more phallic in nature, whereas Bottle 2 contains a large, round, and bulbous root.
Unlike previous offerings of a similar nature released by Haus, these spirit-fetiches do not come with a single seal for calling and working with the indwelling spirit, but with six seals, each geared towards different potential styles and types of workings.
Each bottle will also arrive with:
- The name of the spirit within your individual vessel
- How to call and send the indwelling spirit to work on a given task
- Preferred offerings and how to give them
- A brief exploration on the disposition of the indwelling spirit
- Maintaining the bottle-fetiche
- Safeguards
- General working instructions and suggestions, along with 6 workings for love and lust, financial gain and success, for mastering a person, place, or skill, for the protection of person and place, for strengthening the nature, and for overcoming all obstacles.
