Entertainingly, when creating these candles I mixed up my dye recipe halfway through pouring, so half of the candles are a beautiful and stunning pink that matches the Mother of Sustenance Oil, while the other half became a lighter plum purple. While I have made it an option for the color of each candle to be chosen in the selection menu, the candles themselves are completely the same, bearing the same charge, and differ only in color.
Here, Venus comes as the Mother of Sustenance upon her throne of exaltation in the sign of Pisces bearing boons of benevolence, love, and joy. A truly precious luminary, Exalted Venus: Mother of Sustenance Candles were hand-pored in a Haus blend of natural waxes and eco-dyes in honor of Venus, she who is the very cause of generation and procreation, to call on her aid and to dispense her virtues for all workings of a Venusian hue. Most notably, these candles can help to attract an unmatched level of luck and fortune, opening the way for all good things to come to you and can help to attract generosity and pleasure in life. Beyond this, with Venus being the force of generation within the world, Mother of Sustenance Candles can help to boost and strengthen financial gain and aid in the generation of income through expexted and unexpected means. Looking even further, and pulling from known talismanic ascriptions, Exalted Venus wares can help to attract all good and benevolent things while also boosting peace and harmony in the lives of those who work with them. In terms of love and romance, Mother of Sustenance can help with the building and sustaining of love, be it familial, platonic, or romantic, as prayers were given to the mother bottle for each of these.
Each of these candles contain a portion of Exalted Venus: Mother of Sustenance Oil and Powder (a powder that will never be released for sale). The Oil that is in each of these candles is quite a special one, sitting at the heart of this oil is a stone gathered by my dear friend Sfinga of With Cunning and Command, a stone gathered from the same beach - from beneath the very rock where it is said Aphrodite was born in Paphos, Cyprus. It is the closest we might get to a relic of Aphrodite, for this rock comes from the beach where the Lady of Foam was born, it is imbued with the numen of that location and infused with the grace and fire that is Aphrodite-Venus - a fire that is very much imparted to these luminaries of Venus.
“From the operations of Venus they made an Image, which was available for favor, and benevolence, at the very hour it ascending into Pisces, the form of which was the Image of a woman having the head of a bird, and feet of an Eagle, holding a dart in her hand.”
- Heinrich Cornelius Agrippa, Three Books of Occult Philosophy, Book II Ch. 42
As these candles can help to build and strengthen love whether familial, platonic, or romantic, a large focus was put on adding things that are born from each of these types of love into the oil that sits at rest in the wax along with the appropriate prayers. The stone from the birthplace of Aphrodite was given to me as a gift from Sfinga, a token of our friendship, and so this was given to the oil for many purposes including platonic love.
Herbal materia that can be found in the oil includes: Agarwood, Apple wood, Dittany of Crete, dried double yolk egg-yolk, Jasmine, Lilac wood, Mandrake, Mint, Mulberry, Myrtle, Rose, Styrax ( Liquidambar styraciflua), Queen Elizabeth root, and Wheat among other herbal materia left unnamed. Further additions of animal materia and stones were added to the mother bottle, some of which include: beef tallow, emerald, genuine musk, freshwater pearl, powdered fish, sands bought and gathered from seven beaches, and white mountain goat fur among a sea of others.
Exalted Venus: Mother of Sustenance Candles are truly each a storehouse of the powers of the Queen of Heaven, capable of being dispensed for any manner of workings with Venus when her aid is sought.
Each candle contains 16 fl oz of wax by volume and is fitted with a crackling wooden wick.
