Incense
Incense has been a prominent part of worship and prayer across the vast histories of mankind, being utilized as offerings to gods and spirits, to carry prayers to the ears of our gods, to dispel or invite in specific spirits, to accumulate specific virtues within a space, or to act as the very vehicle of a working. We work with incense to effect change or to influence a person or place through means of the air - it is by this very principle that an incense intended to cause the arousal of lust may be burned in a room where the act will take place, or that a fume worked to attract clients would be burned inside of ones place of business - the air is both the work and its vehicle.
Traditionally, scent is an afterthought in the creation of most fumes unless a specific fragrance is the goal of the work - what may be pleasing to those that it is offered to may not be pleasing to you, though this is not always the case as most fumes offered below are pleasant in both fragrance and effect. Where scent is known to be caustic or glaring, this will always be noted. Here in this section, you will find a selection of various incenses intended for rites of devotion to specific spirits, gods, and currents; for the accumulation of respective virtues within a given space; to remove noxious influences from a space; and those whose plumes of smoke are the very breath of potential workings themselves.
Working variously with the finest resins, butters, plants, the occasional animal mumia or stone, and a whole host of other materia capable of being folded into the body of an incense, Haus of Ophidious incenses hold true to our standards of quality in their creation and effect. The incense found below is meant to be burned atop charcoal disks, preferably Japanese bamboo charcoal when possible.
