The Golden Plough

A one-of-a-kind Charm of Mastery & Success, and a rare offering from the more personal side of my powder-making process...

My recipes and processes for oils, powders, and charms are complex, vary widely across the range of my work, and I guard them tightly. With certain powders, a multi-day process of hand-grinding and powdering begins atop seals and symbols, with delicate candle work performed at precise times within the body of the powder itself. These candles leave behind wax, wax bound to the work, to the process, and to the eventual creation of the concentrated powder that gives birth to the finished powders offered to the public, trapping small fragments and traces of the work along the way.

The Golden Plough contains a ball of this wax, left over from the creation of the ur-powder from which both my Mastery Powder and Success Powders are born. While still pliable, this wax was pinned through with fragments of human bone and seated within ceiba floss, oak bark, and the raw form of the powder itself - a material not offered for sale on its own. The bundle itself contains over 100 plants and trees combined, a range of animal furs and bones brought to powder, and seals and prayers reduced to ash, among other materia left unnamed. 

This rests within a hand-stitched leather bundle, topped with fur, nails, a goat horn, bead, and needle. The fusing of human dead with these materials serves to raise a living spirit: one concerned with the promotion, manifestation, and continuation of Mastery and Success in all of its myriad forms.

The charm works ambiently on its own, with simple offerings, aiding in the cultivation of Mastery and Success within the life of its keeper. It also holds the potential for a deeper relationship to be forged with the spirit itself, particularly where specific tasks related to these matters are concerned.

This is an exceptionally rare piece. These wax balls are only created when a powder is remade in its entirety, and I generally retain them for my own work. A charm of this particular kind is therefore not something that will appear often from Haus of Ophidious.

The Golden Plough will come with a cloth scroll containing advice and instructions for working with the charm, as well as a small bottle of oil containing the raw Mastery & Success root powder and additional materia to activate and work with the charm. There will be only one bottle of this oil ever released, and it will arrive with the Golden Plough, additionally, it will arrive with a bottle each of Haus’ Mastery and Success Powders.
