The Birds of Venus is a charm of the fullest breadth of the virtues of Venus, the Mother of Loves, yet here the potencies at play are further bolstered through the power of birds and the viperous tongue of witchcraft, to act as a dispenser of Her virtues towards any given work or aim. Venus is the gracious Queen of Attraction, Concord, Fertility, and the pleasures of embodied life, whose virtues may be sought in matters of love and marriage, the awakening of desire, the reconciliation of estranged hearts, the cultivation of friendship, and the drawing forth of affection, favor, and benevolence. The graces of Venus encompass beauty, grace, delight, music, festivity, and those natural sympathies by which one thing is drawn toward another. We may approach Venus for the increase of personal charms, the adornment of the body and spirit, the acquisition of admirers and benefactors, the prosperity of artistic endeavors, and the sweetening of those circumstances in which affection and mutual accord are desired. Additionally, Venus also governs the potent force of longing, the binding power of pleasure, and the enchantment by which beauty captures the imagination and holds the attention. 

The Birds of Venus are hand-stitched in green sheepskin leather, with a fully empowered heart charge nestled inside of it. This heart charge contains: Sparrow, Swallow, and Dove, Rabbit, Goat, and Sheep; powdered Bull Horn and Goat Horn, Civet, powdered White Coral, Mother of Pearl, Pearl, and powdered Honey and Eggshell; Apple Wood, Rose, Myrtle, Mandrake root and fruit, Rosehip, Vervain, Damiana, Hibiscus, Jasmine, Linden, Fig, Lady’s Mantle, and Queen Elizabeth Root, Vanilla Bean, Cardamom, and Cinnamon. Additionally, Sumatran Benzoin, Sandalwood, Storax, Aloeswood, Frankincense, and Copper. Additionally they contain some of Haus’ most precious Venus materia which includes: the ashes of every dove that I have ever offered to the Mother of Love, Himalayan goat fur that has been present in all of my work with Venus since 2020, Emerald, dirt from a successful harvest, carnelian, and green jade that received the offering of 7 doves to Venus. As part of a collaborative effort, the charge also contains portions of Pulvis Veneris Montanae: A powder of Venus that celebrates Venus as the Mother of Witches from The Pact.

These jequitiba-pod inspired charms are hand-stitched in green sheepskin, and are stuffed with a spirit strengthening ceiba fiber. The charms themselves are beaded in brass, pearl, and green jade, the latter two having received the offering of seven doves given to Venus. The bottom of the charm bears two beaded strands of green jade adorned each with a foot of a dove that was offered to Aphrodite-Venus. The charms are capped in genuine toad leather and glass topped pins, and arrive with a beaded cord for hanging the charm near doorways, above shrines to Venus, or anywhere that Venus as Mother of Witches might need to be called to dispense her virtues. 

The Birds of Venus arrive with detailed instructions and suggestions for use printed on a cloth scroll, along with a bottle of Oil of the Eye of Aphrodite and a bottle of Love Me or Die.
