Long have the witch plants of the Solanaceae family held the attention of witches and sorcerous workers for their respective power and potencies, as medicines and poisons, as spirit allies, and as teachers to the sorcerous. Here, by the hissing root of the Man-dragon, the dual caress of the dead green sun given by Henbane, the blade to the throat held alongside a mirror to the face in the dark clutches of the beautiful Belladonna, and in the siren’s song sung in the angels knotted throat by our beloved Datura were these four oils seeded, buried, birthed, reburied, and then grasped at their crown beneath clutches of shadows in the night.
These Nightshade Oils were created to act as a point of contact and access to their respective plant genus to allow communion and contact to those who would otherwise be unable to experience these spirits’ presence. Inside each bottle is a root, stems, leaves, flowers, berries or seedpods, and seeds of each respective genus, be it Mandrake, Henbane, Datura, or Belladonna, alongside others that swim and share a liquid body with each oil.
While each oil contains materia of varying types, be they plant, animal, or mineral, each mother bottle contains some materia in common such as Blackthorn wood, Carnelian, Coral, dirt from their burial place, Feather, Meteorite, and Snake bone and skin.
Before beginning the rite proper, the spirits of the working ground were fed milk, several varieties of honey, bread, wine, and coins to appease them and to pay for the work done there. This was repeated at each successive visit to the place of working. Beginning the work that spanned over 13 full lunar cycles, each of these four oils were ritually interred in a mountainside and worked alongside the seasonal tide to call to, pact with, and feed their indwelling genus to be a font of dispensation for their respective potencies. The working grounds were visited often with accompanying rituals that mirrored the traditional witchcraft rites of ensouling and harvesting Alrauns mixed with working methods guided by my own spirits. At the four major seasonal turnings of the year a ritual fire was lit atop their burial place where they gained the momentum of the turning tides of the seasons where they grew in presence and potency, where they were wrestled with in an ever-unfolding hiss of serpents and screaming angels. Upon the night of the 13th New Moon, the working grounds were visited for the final night, each bottle was dug up by hand and grasped with a howling cry of victory, and subsequently bathed in creams and wine, wrapped in fine cloths, and brought home.
Haus Nightshade Oils come as aid and answer to those who seek the witch plants as ingredients as well as to those who are unable to grow or source them yet seek communion with these potent allies. Each bottle of oil is meant to be worked as a font of the magic of each respective plant genus, capable of being added as an ingredient in workings, mixed with other oils, applied to tools and charms, as allies in spirit-flight, and in works of communion with the indwelling spirit. These oils contain the same amount of plant material used in previous batches of flying ointments and as such can be used in similar manners as an ally to the witch in works of spirit-flight. These nightshade oils can also be mixed together in tandem with other materia to create your own Flying Oil or Ointment.
Due to the length of time that it took to create these oils, I am unable to keep them in stock regularly. Only about 30 bottles can be poured from each mother bottle and as such, once they are sold out they are gone until at least 2026.
Each bottle of oil arrives with suggestions for usage, safety information, and guidance on mixing the oils to create your own Flying Oil or Ointment.
