Night Mare Oil

Night Mare Oil comes, galloping and fire-filled, offering aid in works of spirit-flight, for the malefic sending of and protection against the Night Mare, for domination over spirits, and extreme protection against the malefic. This oil is inherently vampiric, being patroned by several spirits of the night capable of offering extreme protection, command, and influence, along with holding great malefic potential. 

There are few trees more heavily associated with Witchcraft than the Blackthorn, known to be a winding host to the spirits of the night, capable of both subjugating and commanding demons and devils alike, for being a potent ally in rites of exorcism and an infamous ally in all works of cursing. Nightmare Oil draws heavily from Blackthorn and was built beneath six consecutive dark moons. At the heart of the mother bottle is a single piece of Blackthorn wood that was carved into beneath each of the six dark moons, along with six silver coins given to the mother bottle on the night of each working. 

On the night of each dark moon that was worked to create the Night Mare Oil, a horse vertebra was oiled with Haus’ sold-out Unguentum Nocturna, an unguent of spirit flight, and ritually worked before being reduced to ash and powdered. This ash powder was mixed with Mandragora officinarum, Black horsehair reduced to ash, Toad, Bat, Dust from a blacksmith’s anvil, Fulgurite, and Master of the Woods, among other materia.

The bat that is distributed throughout the Night Mare Collection was stuffed with herbs chosen by a spirit that patrons the collection and several coins before being reduced to ash at the base of an Evergreen on a dark moon. 

Beyond the above materia, Night Mare Oil also contains several pieces of Obsidian, Moth, Sloe berries, Blackthorn thorns, Datura flower and thorns, feathers, snake bone and skin, Myrrh, and Mastic resin.
